Knitting can be stressful if you have holiday knitting to do at the last minute. That’s why I start thinking about my holiday knitting gifts around now!
When the CoBaSi arrived at the store, I thought it would make great ornaments and Christmas elves but one of my favorite holiday knits is the Christmas Stocking.
It’s a great way to learn how to knit a sock with much thicker yarn. Takes just a fraction of the time and so much less fiddly!
These stockings can be simple, like the Christmas Stocking Stripy or more of an heirloom like the Nisse-Christmas Stocking by Arne and Carlos.
We have some great yarn for stockings,
Kelbourne Woolens Scout. A light worsted weight yarn that comes in many colors. It works really well for any color work, the fibers being just a little sticky.
Another favorite of mine is the
Spud and Chloe Sweater yarn. This worsted weight yarn comes in bright colors and its slightly thicker weight makes it even faster to knit.
If you don’t have time for a stocking, there are always ornaments. Arne and Carlos are the masters with a whole book on the topic, or you can buy some of their patterns on Ravelry.
Not everyone celebrates Christmas, so I wanted to include some Hanukkah knits, like the
Interactive Hanukkah Menorah, a free crochet pattern on Ravelry.
