Woolstok Tweed

Soft. Lofty and rustic in character but not in feel. Thats how I would describe Blue Sky Fibers newest addition, Woolstok Tweed. I first saw it at the Jimmy Beans retreat last month and couldn’t wait to try it. It arrived at Knit House soon after and did not disappoint. The first batch we got in disappeared so fast, I didnt get the chance to blog about it. Had to wait till now after a new batch came in!

This is an Aran weight yarn that knits up quickly on 9 to 11 size needles. It’s made of Highland wool with specks of Donegal Tweed. Pattern support for this yarn is great and here are some of my favorites:

Don’t be surprised if you see an older, distinguished looking man wearing this cardigan in the store, I have the yarn to knit it for my dad!
This last one is a favorite of Christine. This is knit from the bottom up with v-neck and armhole ribbing done at the same time, so little finishing!
Another quick knit I am thinking about with this yarn, is the currently, very popular Bandana Cowl. A free Purl Soho pattern.
